Does my stop-start van need a special battery and coding?
Almost certainly. Stop-start vehicles need AGM or EFB batteries built for constant cycling, and many need the new battery coded to the vehicle so charging is managed correctly. Fit a cheap standard battery and it will fail early; we supply and code the right one.
Why do van batteries always seem to die in winter?
Cold thickens engine oil and slows the battery chemistry just as demands peak, so a battery weakened by a year of short rounds finally cannot deliver. An autumn test on our free battery and charging check catches the weak ones before the first frost does.
