Car Battery Replacement in Park Royal
Battery testing, supply and same-day replacement.

Before anything is sold to you, the battery, the alternator and the starting circuit get tested, free. If the battery really is the fault we fit the correct unit for your car, including AGM and EFB types for stop-start vehicles, and code it in where the charging system requires that. Most cars are tested and fitted the same day, walk-ins included.
What is battery replacement?
A car battery has one demanding job, spinning the starter, and one quiet one, keeping the electronics alive while the vehicle sits. Cranking pulls hundreds of amps for a second or two, and it is that cold cranking capacity, not the voltage reading on a dashboard, that fades first as the plates sulphate with age. Stop-start vehicles ask more again: every restart at a red light is another deep cycle, which is why they are built around AGM or EFB batteries designed for that constant cycling, and why an ordinary battery fitted to one fails early and often disables the stop-start function. Many of these cars also monitor battery condition and adjust their charging to suit, so a replacement has to be coded in, or the vehicle keeps charging to the worn-out battery's profile.
How we carry out battery replacement
We measure resting voltage first, then load test the battery, drawing heavy current across it and watching how far the voltage collapses and how fast it recovers. That is what separates a battery that is merely flat from one that is finished. Next comes the charging side: alternator output at idle and under electrical load, the condition of both terminals and the earth strap, and whether anything is still drawing current once the car has gone to sleep. Only then do we say what needs replacing. If it is the battery, we match case size, terminal layout and AGM or EFB specification, fit it, code it to the vehicle where required, and retest the charging system before you drive away.

Battery replacement and West London driving
A battery only recharges properly on a sustained run, and a great deal of driving around here is the opposite of that. Short hops between units on the Park Royal industrial estate, engine off at every drop, then a crawl out to the A40 Western Avenue where the engine idles more than it turns, all take out more charge than they put back. Vehicles restarting a dozen times an hour work their batteries hardest of all. A unit living on that diet can pass a quick voltage check in September and still refuse to turn the starter on the first properly cold January morning.
Why choose Park Royal Tyre & Alignment Centre for battery replacement
The test is free and it covers the whole circuit rather than the battery alone, because a car that will not start is as often an alternator, a corroded earth strap or a parasitic drain. We are an RAC Approved Garage and an AA Approved Garage, we supply AGM and EFB units for stop-start vehicles, and we code the new battery to the car wherever the charging system requires it. Most fitting is done the same day, and walk-ins are welcome seven days a week.
