Lexus Tyres in Park Royal

The right tyre size for a Lexus depends on the model, the generation and the wheels fitted. A CT 200h can be on 195/65 R15, 205/55 R16 or 215/45 R17, the RX 500h is listed on 235/50 R21, and some IS, RC and RZ versions use a wider tyre at the rear. Your size is on the tyre sidewall. Lexus tyre sizes by model

Sizes for 11 Lexus models and generations, cross-checked against tyre-maker and retailer fitment listings. One model often lists several sizes, one per wheel option. Fitment listings are a guide: the size on your own tyres, or on the placard in the door frame, is the one to match.

Lexus models at a glance

• CT 200h: The CT 200h (2011 to 2020 in the UK) uses 195/65 R15, 205/55 R16 or 215/45 R17.
• IS 300h: The IS 300h (2013 to 2020 in the UK) uses 205/55 R16 or 225/45 R17, or 225/40 R18 front with 255/35 R18 rear on 18-inch wheels.
• NX (2014 to 2021): The first-generation NX 300h, NX 200t and NX 300 use 225/65 R17, 225/60 R18 or 235/55 R18.
• NX (2022 onwards): The NX 350h and NX 450h+ use 235/60 R18 or 235/50 R20.
• RX (2016 to 2022): The fourth-generation RX 450h, RX 450hL, RX 200t and RX 300 use 235/65 R18 or 235/55 R20.
• RX (2023 onwards): The RX 350h and RX 450h+ use 235/60 R19 or 235/50 R21, and the RX 500h is listed on 235/50 R21.
• UX: The UX 250h, UX 300h, UX 200 and UX 300e use 215/60 R17 or 225/50 R18.
• ES 300h: The ES 300h from 2019 uses 215/55 R17, 235/45 R18 or 235/40 R19.
• LBX: The LBX from 2024 uses 225/60 R17 or 225/55 R18.
• RZ: The RZ 300e uses 235/60 R18 all round, the RZ 450e and 500e on 18-inch wheels use 235/60 R18 front with 255/55 R18 rear, and 20-inch wheels use 235/50 R20 front with 255/45 R20 rear.
• RC 300h: The RC 300h (to 2020 in the UK) uses 235/45 R18, or 235/40 R19 front with 265/35 R19 rear on 19-inch wheels.

Staggered sizes on the IS, RC and RZ

Several Lexus models use a wider tyre on the rear axle than the front. The IS 300h on 18-inch wheels uses 225/40 R18 front with 255/35 R18 rear. The RC 300h on 19-inch wheels uses 235/40 R19 front with 265/35 R19 rear. The RZ on 20-inch wheels uses 235/50 R20 front with 255/45 R20 rear, and the RZ 450e and 500e on 18-inch wheels use 235/60 R18 front with 255/55 R18 rear.

Not every version is staggered. The RZ 300e on 18-inch wheels is listed with 235/60 R18 on both axles, and the IS and RC on smaller wheels use one size all round. Check the sidewall on a front and a rear tyre before ordering, and tell us which axle needs tyres when you book.

SUVs and crossovers: one model name, several sizes

The NX and RX have each had two generations, and the sizes changed between them. The first NX (2014 to 2021) uses 225/65 R17, 225/60 R18 or 235/55 R18, while the second NX (2022 onwards, NX 350h and NX 450h+) uses 235/60 R18 or 235/50 R20. The two 18-inch sizes on the first NX are easy to mix up, so go by the sidewall. The fourth-generation RX (2016 to 2022) uses 235/65 R18 or 235/55 R20, and the current RX (2023 onwards) uses 235/60 R19 or 235/50 R21.

The smaller crossovers are simpler. The UX uses 215/60 R17 or 225/50 R18, and the 17-inch size is also listed for the electric UX 300e. The LBX uses 225/60 R17 or 225/55 R18.

Lexus does not sell vans in the UK, so none of these models need commercial (C-rated) van tyres.

Alignment and even wear

On the staggered IS, RC and RZ set-ups the front and rear tyres are different sizes, so they cannot be swapped front to rear to even out wear. Each pair wears at its own rate, which makes the alignment worth checking. If one edge of a tyre is wearing faster than the rest, have the alignment looked at before or when you fit new tyres, or the new ones may wear the same way. That matters most on the larger sizes, such as the RX's 235/50 R21 or the RC's 265/35 R19 rears. We use Hunter equipment for four-wheel alignment, from £50.

What to check before you buy

The size guide below is based on European-market original fitments, and the link between trim and wheel size is only a guide, because UK trim names change by model year. The sidewall of the tyre on your car is the size to go by.

When you book, give us the full size from the sidewall, including the load index and speed rating printed after it. On a staggered car, give us both the front and rear sizes. Online booking shows live prices for your size.
