Nissan Tyres in Park Royal

The right tyre size for a Nissan depends on the model, the generation and the wheels fitted. A Qashqai J11 can be on 215/65 R16, 215/60 R17, 215/55 R18 or 225/45 R19, while the newer J12 starts at 17-inch. The size on your car is printed on the tyre sidewall and on the label in the driver's door frame. Find your model below, then book at our Park Royal garage in NW10. Sizes for 19 Nissan models and generations, cross-checked against tyre-maker and retailer fitment listings. One model often lists several sizes, one per wheel option. Fitment listings are a guide: the size on your own tyres, or on the placard in the door frame, is the one to match.

Nissan models at a glance

• Qashqai J11: The 2014 to 2021 Qashqai uses 215/65 R16, 215/60 R17, 215/55 R18 or 225/45 R19 across all its petrol and diesel engines, including the 4x4.
• Qashqai J12: The Qashqai from 2021 uses 215/65 R17 up to 235/45 R20, and the e-POWER is listed on the 18, 19 and 20-inch sizes only.
• Juke F15: The 2014 to 2019 Juke uses 205/60 R16, 215/55 R17 or 225/45 R18, and the 18-inch size is fitted to versions including the Nismo RS.
• Juke F16: The Juke from 2019 uses 215/65 R16, 215/60 R17 or 225/45 R19, and the Juke Hybrid is listed on the 17 and 19-inch sizes only.
• Micra K13: The 2013 to 2017 Micra uses 165/70 R14, 175/60 R15 or 185/55 R16.
• Micra K14: The Micra from 2017 uses 185/65 R15, 195/55 R16 or 205/45 R17, and the 1.0 DIG-T 117hp is listed on 205/45 R17 only.
• Note E12: The 2013 to 2017 Note uses 185/65 R15 or 195/55 R16.
• Pulsar C13: The 2014 to 2018 Pulsar is listed on five sizes, from 195/60 R16 to 215/45 R18.
• Leaf ZE0: The 2010 to 2017 Leaf uses 205/55 R16 or 215/50 R17.
• Leaf ZE1: The 2018 to 2025 Leaf uses 205/55 R16 or 215/50 R17 on both the 40kWh and 62kWh versions.
• X-Trail T32: The 2014 to 2022 X-Trail uses 225/65 R17, 225/60 R18 or 225/55 R19 in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive.
• X-Trail T33: The X-Trail from 2022 uses 235/60 R18, 235/55 R19 or 255/45 R20 on the mild hybrid and e-POWER, including e-4ORCE.
• Ariya: The Ariya from 2022 is listed on 235/55 R19 or 255/45 R20 for every battery and drive version.
• Navara D23: The Navara pickup from 2015 uses 255/70 R16, 255/65 R17 or 255/60 R18, with a commercial 205 R16C on some 163hp versions.
• NV200 / e-NV200: The NV200 van uses commercial 175/70 R14C tyres, while the electric e-NV200 uses 185/65 R15.
• Townstar: The Renault Kangoo-based Townstar from 2022 uses 195/65 R15, 205/60 R16 or 195/65 R16, including the EV.
• NV300: The 2016 to 2021 NV300, a rebadged Renault Trafic, runs commercial 205/65 R16C, 215/65 R16C or 215/60 R17C tyres.
• Primastar: The Primastar from 2022 runs commercial 215/65 R16C or 215/60 R17C tyres, with 205/65 R16C listed for the 130hp only.
• NV400 / Interstar: The Master-based NV400 and 2022 to 2024 Interstar run commercial 16-inch tyres, from 215/65 R16C to 235/65 R16C, with 195/75 R16C on rear-wheel-drive versions.

Qashqai, Juke and X-Trail: check the generation and the load index

Nissan's crossovers changed size between generations, so a tyre that fitted your last Qashqai may not fit this one. The Qashqai J11 (2014 to 2021) runs 215/65 R16 to 225/45 R19. The J12 (2021 onwards) uses 215/65 R17, 235/55 R18, 235/50 R19 or 235/45 R20, and the 17-inch size is listed only for the 1.3 DIG-T mild hybrid. The e-POWER starts at 18-inch. The X-Trail moved from 225/65 R17 to 225/55 R19 on the T32 to 235/60 R18 to 255/45 R20 on the T33.

The load and speed index can differ between wheel sizes on the same model. On one Qashqai J11 version, fitment data lists the 16-inch tyre as 98H and the 18-inch as 92W. Read the full size, including the load and speed index, from a tyre on the car or the door-frame label, and give us all of it when you book.

The Juke Hybrid is a common catch: it is listed on 17 and 19-inch wheels only, while the 1.0 DIG-T petrol Juke from 2019 can also be on 215/65 R16.

Electric Nissans: Leaf, Ariya and e-4ORCE

Both generations of the Leaf use 205/55 R16 or 215/50 R17. The load and speed index on the Leaf ZE1 (2018 to 2025) varies between sources, from 86P and 88Q to 89H and 90V, so match the index printed on the tyres already on your car. The 18-inch Leaf Nismo was sold in Japan, so its size isn't a UK fitment.

Every Ariya version is listed on 235/55 R19 or 255/45 R20, whether it is two-wheel drive or e-4ORCE. e-4ORCE is Nissan's twin-motor all-wheel drive, with one motor at the front and one at the rear, and it is also offered on the X-Trail e-POWER. Let us know if your car has it when you book.

The e-NV200 electric van uses 185/65 R15, a different size from the 175/70 R14C on the diesel and petrol NV200.

Nissan vans and the Navara need load-rated tyres

Nissan's vans run commercial (C) load-rated tyres, such as 175/70 R14C on the NV200, 215/65 R16C 109/107T on the NV300 and 225/65 R16C 112/110R on the NV400. A C-rated van tyre should not be replaced with a car tyre of the same size and a lower load index. Give us the full size, including the C and both load figures, from the door-frame label.

Several Nissan vans share their underpinnings with Renault. The NV300 (2016 to 2021) and Primastar (2022 onwards) are rebadged Renault Trafic vans and use 205/65 R16C, 215/65 R16C or 215/60 R17C. The NV400 and the 2022 to 2024 Interstar are based on the third-generation Renault Master; rear-wheel-drive versions take 195/75 R16C, and camper versions may carry CP-marked tyres. The Townstar (2022 onwards) is based on the Renault Kangoo.

The Navara D23 pickup is listed on 255/70 R16, 255/65 R17 and 255/60 R18, with a commercial 205 R16C on some 163hp versions and 275/70 R17 on the Arctic Trucks AT32.

Wheel alignment on a Nissan

Wide, low-profile tyres like the 235/45 R20 on the Qashqai J12 or the 255/45 R20 on the X-Trail T33 and Ariya cost more to replace, so it pays to make sure the wheels are pointing the right way before new ones go on. If one edge is wearing faster than the rest, or the steering pulls or sits off-centre, have the alignment checked before or when you fit new tyres. Otherwise the new ones will wear the same way. We use Hunter equipment for four-wheel alignment, from £50.
