Peugeot Tyres in Park Royal

The right tyre for a Peugeot depends on the model, the generation, the wheels fitted and sometimes the powertrain. A 2019-on 208 or e-208 can be on 185/65 R15, 195/55 R16 or 205/45 R17. Peugeot tyre sizes by model

Sizes for 18 Peugeot models and generations, cross-checked against tyre-maker and retailer fitment listings. One model often lists several sizes, one per wheel option. Fitment listings are a guide: the size on your own tyres, or on the placard in the door frame, is the one to match.

Peugeot models at a glance

• 108: The 2014 to 2022 108 uses 165/65 R14 on entry versions or 165/60 R15 on 15-inch alloys, for both the 1.0 and 1.2 engines.
• 208 (2012-2019): The first-generation 208 is listed on 185/65 R15, 195/55 R16 or 205/45 R17, with the 17-inch size the only one listed for the GTi.
• 208 / e-208 (2019-): The current 208 uses 185/65 R15, 195/55 R16 or 205/45 R17, and the electric e-208 is listed on the 16 and 17-inch sizes only.
• 2008 (2013-2019): The first-generation 2008 is listed on 195/65 R15, 195/60 R16, 205/55 R16 or 205/50 R17, depending on engine and wheel.
• 2008 / e-2008 (2019-): The current 2008 and e-2008 use 215/65 R16, 215/60 R17 or 215/55 R18.
• 308 (2013-2021): The second-generation 308 hatchback and SW use 195/65 R15, 205/55 R16, 225/45 R17 or 225/40 R18, with the high-output 1.6 THP on 17 or 18-inch only.
• 308 / e-308 (2021-): The current 308 uses 205/55 R16, 225/45 R17 or 225/40 R18, while the electric e-308 takes a different 215/45 R18.
• 3008 (2009-2016): The first-generation 3008 is listed on 215/60 R16, 225/50 R17, 235/45 R18 or, on some versions, 225/45 R18, and uses direct TPMS.
• 3008 (2016-2023): The second-generation 3008 uses sizes from 215/65 R17 to 235/50 R19, including a narrow 205/55 R19 and 225/50 R19 on the plug-in hybrids.
• 3008 / e-3008 (2024-): The current 3008 uses 225/55 R19 on the mild hybrid, and 235/55 R19 or 235/50 R20 on the plug-in hybrid and electric e-3008.
• 5008 (2017-2024): The second-generation 5008 seven-seater uses 215/65 R17, 225/55 R18, a narrow 205/55 R19 or, on some versions, 235/50 R19.
• 5008 / e-5008 (2024-): The current 5008 uses 225/55 R19 on the mild hybrid, and 235/55 R19 or 235/50 R20 on the plug-in hybrid and electric e-5008.
• 508 (2018-): The 508 fastback and SW use sizes from 215/60 R16 to 235/40 R19, and the 508 PSE runs 245/35 R20.
• Partner (2008-2018): The second-generation Partner van is listed on 195/65 R15 for all engines.
• Partner / e-Partner (2018-): The current Partner van uses 195/65 R15 on lower-output versions or 215/65 R16, the only size listed for the 2024 e-Partner.
• Rifter / e-Rifter: The Rifter from 2018 uses passenger tyres from 195/65 R15 to 215/60 R17, with the 15-inch size on lower-output versions only.
• Expert / e-Expert: The Expert from 2016 uses commercial 215/65 R16C or 215/60 R17C tyres, and passenger Traveller versions can have a different load rating.
• Boxer: The Boxer from 2014 runs commercial tyres in 215/70 R15C, 225/70 R15C, 215/75 R16C or 225/75 R16C, depending on version.

Electric and hybrid Peugeots can take a different size

On some Peugeots the tyre size changes with the powertrain, not just the wheel. The electric e-308 uses 215/45 R18 on 18-inch wheels, where the petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid 308 use 225/40 R18. On the 3008 and 5008 from 2024, the 1.2 mild hybrid is listed on 225/55 R19, while the plug-in hybrid and electric e-3008 and e-5008 use 235/55 R19 or 235/50 R20.

So don't assume the size from the model name. Read it from the tyre sidewall or the tyre pressure label and give it to us when you book.

Tyre pressure warnings after new tyres

Peugeots such as the 208 (including the 2019-on e-208) and the 3008 from 2024 use an indirect under-inflation detection system. It compares wheel-speed sensor readings rather than measuring pressure, and the handbook says it must be reinitialised after every pressure adjustment or wheel change, with all four tyres at the correct pressure. Otherwise the warning can't be relied on.

Some earlier Peugeots, such as the first-generation 3008 (2009 to 2016), use direct TPMS with a sensor in each tyre valve. A spare wheel has no sensor, so fitting it brings up a system warning until the sensor-equipped wheel goes back on. Peugeot handbooks say to check pressures cold, after the car has been stopped for an hour or driven less than 6 miles (10 km) at moderate speed, and to add 0.3 bar to the label figures if the tyres are hot.

Partner, Expert and Boxer: check the load rating

Peugeot's vans don't all use the same type of tyre. The Expert from 2016 is listed on commercial (C-type) tyres, 215/65 R16C or 215/60 R17C, and the passenger Traveller versions can use a different load rating on the same size. The Boxer from 2014 runs 15-inch or 16-inch commercial tyres, from 215/70 R15C to 225/75 R16C, depending on engine and body variant, and the 15 and 16-inch sizes are not interchangeable without checking the load rating.

The Rifter is listed on passenger (non-C) tyres. Give us the full size, including any C and the load index, from the tyre placard. We fit van tyres at our Park Royal garage.

Wheel alignment on a Peugeot

If one edge of a tyre is wearing faster than the rest, or the steering pulls or sits off-centre, have the alignment checked when you fit new tyres, or the new ones will wear the same way. This matters most on the larger sizes, such as 18 to 20-inch tyres on the 3008, 5008 and 508, and on Partner, Expert and Boxer vans that cover high mileage. We use Hunter equipment for four-wheel alignment, from £50.
