Suzuki Tyres in Park Royal

The right tyre size for a Suzuki depends on the model, the generation and the wheels fitted. A Swift runs 175/65 R15 or 185/55 R16, the Vitara and S-Cross share 215/55 R17 on 17-inch wheels, and the current Jimny uses a tall 195/80 R15. Your size is on the tyre sidewall. Suzuki tyre sizes by model

Sizes for 16 Suzuki models and generations, cross-checked against tyre-maker and retailer fitment listings. One model often lists several sizes, one per wheel option. Fitment listings are a guide: the size on your own tyres, or on the placard in the door frame, is the one to match.

Suzuki models at a glance

• Swift Mk3 (NZ): The 2013 to 2017 Swift uses 175/65 R15 on 15-inch wheels or 185/55 R16 on 16-inch alloys, for every engine.
• Swift Mk4 (AZ): The 2017 to 2024 Swift uses 175/65 R15 or 185/55 R16, including the SHVS mild hybrid and ALLGRIP 4WD.
• Swift Mk5 (UZ): The Swift from 2024 uses 185/55 R16, as every current UK grade has 16-inch alloys.
• Swift Sport 1.6 (NZ): The 2013 to 2017 Swift Sport 1.6 uses 195/45 R17 on 17-inch alloys.
• Swift Sport 1.4 Boosterjet (AZ): The 2018 to 2024 Swift Sport uses 195/45 R17, including the mild hybrid from 2020.
• Vitara (LY): The Vitara from 2015 uses 215/60 R16 or 215/55 R17, with the same sizes on 2WD and ALLGRIP 4WD.
• SX4 S-Cross 1.6 (JY, 2013-2016): The 2013 to 2016 SX4 S-Cross 1.6 petrol and 1.6 DDiS diesel use 205/60 R16 or 205/50 R17.
• SX4 S-Cross facelift (JY, 2016-2021): The facelifted SX4 S-Cross with the 1.0 or 1.4 Boosterjet uses 215/60 R16 or 215/55 R17, while 1.6 engines kept the older sizes.
• S-Cross Mk2: The S-Cross from 2022 uses 215/55 R17, as every current UK grade has 17-inch alloys.
• Ignis (MF): The Ignis from 2016 uses 175/65 R15 or 175/60 R16, with the same sizes on 2WD and ALLGRIP 4WD.
• Jimny Mk3 (FJ): The 2012 to 2018 Jimny 1.3 uses 205/70 R15.
• Jimny Mk4 (GJ): The Jimny from 2018, car and commercial versions, uses 195/80 R15.
• Baleno (EW): The 2016 to 2019 Baleno uses 175/65 R15 or 185/55 R16.
• e Vitara: The electric e Vitara from 2025 uses 225/55 R18 on Motion grades and 225/50 R19 on Ultra grades.
• Swace: The Swace 1.8 hybrid estate from 2020 uses 205/55 R16.
• Across: The Across 2.5 plug-in hybrid from 2020 uses 235/55 R19.

Swift, Ignis and Baleno: the wheels decide the size

On Suzuki's small cars the tyre size follows the wheels, not the engine. The 2013 to 2024 Swift uses 175/65 R15 on 15-inch wheels or 185/55 R16 on 16-inch alloys, whether it is the 1.2, the 1.0 Boosterjet, the SHVS mild hybrid or ALLGRIP 4WD. The current Swift from 2024 has 16-inch alloys on every UK grade, so it takes 185/55 R16. The Baleno (2016 to 2019) uses the same two sizes as the Swift.

The Swift Sport is different: both the 1.6 (2013 to 2017) and the 1.4 Boosterjet (2018 to 2024) use 195/45 R17. The Ignis uses 175/65 R15 or 175/60 R16. The 16-inch Ignis size is uncommon, so check stock when you book.

Vitara, S-Cross, Jimny and the e Vitara

The Vitara (2015 onwards), the facelifted SX4 S-Cross (2016 to 2021) and the current S-Cross (2022 onwards) all use 215/55 R17 on 17-inch wheels, and the Vitara and SX4 S-Cross use 215/60 R16 on 16-inch wheels. ALLGRIP 4WD versions of the Swift, Ignis, Vitara and S-Cross use the same sizes as the 2WD versions.

The SX4 S-Cross changed size with its engines rather than its model year. The 1.6 petrol and 1.6 DDiS diesel use 205/60 R16 or 205/50 R17, while the 1.0 and 1.4 Boosterjet use 215/60 R16 or 215/55 R17. A 2016 to 2018 car could have either, so check the engine as well as the year.

The Jimny from 2018, including the two-seat commercial version, uses 195/80 R15, a different size from the previous Jimny's 205/70 R15. The electric e Vitara is not related to the petrol Vitara's sizes: Motion grades use 225/55 R18 on 18-inch alloys and Ultra grades use 225/50 R19 on 19-inch alloys.

Uneven wear and wheel alignment

If one edge of a tyre is wearing faster than the rest, have the alignment checked before or when you fit new tyres, or the new ones may wear the same way. We use Hunter equipment for four-wheel alignment, from £50.

What to check before you buy

Suzuki UK lists a tyre pressure monitoring system on the current Vitara, S-Cross and e Vitara, and a tyre pressure indicator on the current Swift. If a warning light stays on after the pressures are set, tell us when you book.

Give us the full size from the sidewall, including the load and speed rating, and on an SX4 S-Cross tell us the engine. The legal minimum tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm. Online booking shows live prices for your size.
